Program Overview
The Certificate of Proficiency in Early Childhood Development contains the basic courses that lay a solid foundation for a person wishing to pursue a career working with young children, birth through pre-kindergarten. The one-semester Certificate of Proficiency allows students to partially meet the requirements to apply for the Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) issued by the CDA Council in Washington, D.C.
Students must obtain cleared criminal, FBI, and child maltreatment registry checks and an education ID badge prior to enrollment in ECD and ECTC courses.

The Arkansas Course Transfer System (ACTS) contains information about the transferability of courses within Arkansas public colleges and universities. Students are guaranteed the transfer of applicable credits and equitable treatment in the application of credits for admissions and degree requirements. Degree Requirements
-This degree requires successful completion of 12 credit hours.
-A minimum 2.00 cumulative grade-point average required for graduation.
-Students must earn a grade of “C” or better in all courses taken to satisfy the CP in Early Childhood Development.
-This program of study includes special program fees beyond current tuition and college fees.
-Satisfaction of all financial obligations due to the college is required for graduation.
