PNUR 12038 - Nursing Care of Adults II Credit Hours: 8
The course content focuses on care of the Middle-Aged Adult using patient-centered care and the evidence for planning priorities based on the health problems, symptoms, and patient/family beliefs and values. Students are introduced to acute and chronic conditions that require multidisciplinary management. The course content includes the study of common conditions of the medical surgical client using a body systems approach of study. Included in each system’s study are the cultural influences on nursing, nutritional needs of the client, pharmacological issues and special needs of the middle aged adult. The course also includes the study of current and emerging infectious disease, bioterrorism disease issues and emergency preparedness for natural and man- made disasters in today’s society.
