Graduation Map: Health Information Technology, AAS (FULL-TIME COHORT)

The Associate of Applied Science in Health Information Technology is a two-year degree designed to prepare professionals to compile, code, analyze, and prepare health information needed by the patient, the health care facility, the public, agencies that pay the claims, physicians and other members of the healthcare team, and supervision of employees and functions. All HIMT Courses are offered ONLINE with the exception of clinical courses. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).

Class size is limited to 25 students per cohort. Not all applicants are selected for participation in the program; a selective admissions process will be utilized.

HOW TO APPLY:

To make application to the Health Information Technology Program, go to: https://uaptc.edu/health-info- tech/application. Application must be received by July 1st for Fall entrance. Applicants must have completed all 22 hours of General Education courses before admission. Minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.25 is required.

Students are guaranteed the transfer of applicable credits and equitable treatment in the application of credits for admissions and degree requirements. Degree Requirements

-This degree requires successful completion of 60 credit hours.

-A minimum 2.00 cumulative grade-point average is required for graduation.

-All HIMT courses must be completed with a grade of ‘C’ or better.

-Please note: additional prerequisite courses may be required if minimum placement test scores are not met.
