Working under the supervision of an occupational therapist, the occupational therapy assistant uses purposeful activity to aid clients with physical, mental, and developmental disabilities in functioning as independently as possible in the areas of selfcare, work, and leisure. Occupational therapy assistants work in a variety of settings including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, school systems, long term care facilities, pediatric clinics, and mental health facilities. The Associate of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy Assistant program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), www.acoteonline.org.

Degree Requirements
-This two-year program is offered in partnership with Baptist Health College Little Rock.
-A total of 70 credit hours are required.
-A minimum 2.00 grade-point average is required for graduation.
-A drug screen and background check will be required of all students selected.
-This program of study requires special program fees beyond current tuition and college fees.
-Satisfaction of all financial obligations due to the college is required for graduation.
-Please note: additional prerequisite courses may be required if minimum placement test scores are not met.
NOTE: Some courses have required prerequisites. BOTA courses are only offered as day classes.
The program application deadline is March 1. The file completion deadline is March 15th.

Complete an application to the Occupational Therapy Assistant program at Baptist Health College Little Rock.
Have your official high school transcript, all your official college transcripts, and your official ACT score of 20 or higher sent to BHCLR. (Score of 21 or above preferred).
Complete the pre-requisite courses with a grade of “C” or better by the end of the spring semester in the year you are applying.
GPA of 2.7 or above on required prerequisite courses preferred.
