HVAC 1204 - Principles of HVACR II Credit Hours: 4
Using the basics learned in Principles of HVACR I, students will learn to troubleshoot a mechanical refrigeration system using the temperature and pressure relationship. Accessories involved in the installation of air conditioning and refrigeration systems will be discussed. Copper brazing and PVC pipe installation will be studied and the student will learn the proper techniques for the installation of each. Code issues dealing with proper installation, sizing, and safety will be discussed along with proper design and implementation of duct work, gas piping, and electrical supply. Theory/Lab. Students will then use the knowledge gained during the semester to take the EPA 608 Refrigerant Handling Certification with a “Universal” certification.
